What We Do
Motorized patio screens. Our only product. Our entire focus.
We don't divide our attention between awnings, lanais, or interior shades. Every resource we have — our 23,000 sq ft factory, our install trucks, our training program — is dedicated to motorized patio screens. That's why ours are built better, installed better, and backed better.
Our Focus
We know exactly what makes a great shade — because every decision we make is focused on one product.
Other companies spread their attention across awnings, pergolas, blinds, and draperies. Their shades are a line item. For us, motorized patio screens are the entire business.
After thousands of installs, we know exactly where a cheap shade fails and where a great one wins. A better motor. A better fabric. A better weld. A weighted hem bar. And a team trained specifically for this product. That's the entire formula — and we obsess over every piece of it.

01 — The Motor
Battery or hard-wired. Both bulletproof. Both 5-year parts-and-labor warrantied.
Every Shade Co screen runs on one of two motor platforms, and both include built-in object detection so the shade stops if something is in its path.
Battery motors are what most of our clients choose. A single overnight charge runs the shade for roughly 8–12 months depending on size and cycles. No electrician. No outlet. No wires running out of the cassette. And if the power ever goes out, you can still open your patio and get out — no generator required. We're one of the very few brands in the U.S. that offers a true battery-powered exterior shade at this scale.
Hard-wired motors are for clients who want to plug it in and forget it. No charging cycle, ever. Both motors carry the same 5-year parts-and-labor warranty and are backed by our in-house service team.

02 — The Fabric
Purpose-built for exterior shading.
We build our shades with a vinyl-coated polyester mesh engineered specifically for outdoor motorized screens. It blocks the sun and the heat, keeps insects out, and still lets you see straight through to the view.
It doesn't stretch, doesn't fray, and stands up to years of daily cycles in wind, sun, and rain — which is exactly why we specify it on every project instead of whatever fabric a supplier is discounting that month.
03 — The Weld
Best welders on the market. Because the seams are what fail first.
The most common failure point on a motorized patio screen isn't the motor — it's the seam where the fabric attaches to the hem bar and side reinforcements. If the weld is weak, the shade sags, splits, and pulls apart at the edges.
We invested in the best fabric welders on the market so every seam on every Shade Co screen is fused to spec, every time. It's an unglamorous piece of equipment that nobody outside the industry ever asks about — and it's one of the biggest reasons our shades outlast the ones sold through dealer networks.

04 — The Hem Bar
Heavy. On purpose.
A weighted hem bar is what pulls the fabric taut as the shade drops. Skimp on the weight and you get wrinkles, wave, and a screen that flutters in the wind. Our hem bars are loaded to spec so the shade lands flat and stays flat — a clean, smooth wall of screen every single time.
It's a small detail. It's also the difference between a shade that looks like it was built for the home and a shade that looks like an accessory.
05 — The Install
Built by us. Installed by us. Serviced by us.
Most manufacturers of motorized patio screens have never actually installed one of their own products, let alone built and trained a full install team. They build the shade, ship it to a dealer, and hope for the best.
We took the opposite path. Every crew that installs a Shade Co screen — direct employee or certified install partner — is trained on our own factory floor, held to a single QC standard, and tracked job-by-job in our accountability software from measure to punch list. Same process. Same standard. Everywhere.
The people building your shade and the people mounting it to your home are working from the same playbook — which is why we can guarantee the fit, the finish, and the warranty in a way a dealer network never can.
Why buy from a dealer selling someone else's product when you can buy it straight from the source?
